New cooling clothing for Fabry sufferers
Many Fabry patients are sensitive to heat. A special garment developed by Klinik Valens, Empa and Unico Swiss Tex can provide relief.
The idea came from a doctor with multiple sclerosis who noticed that evaporative cooling after rain alleviated her symptoms. This principle was technically implemented:
The garment consists of two polyester layers with a damp cloth in between. The inner layer is waterproof, while the outer layer allows the water to evaporate and thus ensures cooling.
Various models are available, such as cooling pants and shirts for around 400-450 francs.
